Yesterday was a successful day in the eating department. The 1st part of
the day was easier then I anticipated, but come 2nd half of the day it
was a little tougher.
My mind tried wandering & thinking of all the JUNK.
None the less....I found myself a little hungry after dinner & was
81 calories under my calorie goal, so I consumed 1/2 a bag of popcorn (4
cups) which was 80 calories.
Normally I would just stay under, but I am trying not to undereat just as much as I'm trying not to overeat.
I updated my weight & info on here. It gave me minimum calorie
consumption of 1250 a day to eat to lose 43 lbs in 8 mos..which is what I
chose.
Figured 5 lbs a month is a good enough goal.
Heck technically I ran yesterday so I ate 1249 cals & burned 400 +, so....
Today I shall fight & prevail.
I have to walk to my eldest school w/ both my boys to time how long it
takes us to walk, so I can figure the schedule out for school time.
I shall right SOON, if not REAL SOON!

Hello!
Been a good while since I have blogged. Not much has been really happening but at the same time there prob has been alot happening. Make sense?
I guess I feel lately that nothing I have to say is very much important. In the way of...it is just bull. So what's the point. Kind of blah who cares?!
Anywho...I have been making 1-3 new recipes a day. I am so HAPPY to be doing that!! I gave up on cereal 2 weeks ago. I got "TIRED" of feeling like I am "miserable" because I get 2 spoonfuls of cereal and that is all. I have never been happy with eating cereal and I ate it 4 days a week. 2 of the other days were plain oatmeal, and "special" oatmeal. The other 1 day was eggs. I decided I love my oatmeal and I love my eggs. I am runner and those are PERFECT for me. So....there are a TONS of recipes I can make for both. Then I have eggs and oatmeal with different things in them so I wont get sick of them because it is never the same old recipe. So I trade off between eggs and oatmeal each day. One day being special day...like pancakes (new recipes as well) that day being on Sunday when we are ALL home to eat it. :-D ALL my recipes are thanks to HUNGRY GIRL!! I feel so awesome making new things because not only am I satisfied in the hunger department but I get a taste of so many things so I do NOT feel deprived AT ALL WHATSOEVER!! Been running my normal stuff. So nothing new there. I was supposed to do my 1rst set of intervals yesterday. 3 miles worth. I didn't! :( I decided instead of doing 3 mil HILLS every week I would do them every OTHER week. So I still will run 3 miles but not hills on the other weeks. I then decided I mind as well but it to good use and do intervals. Well I learned yesterday that the plan on NOT waking up early and doing it later in the day...for me...DOES NOT WORK. Life/energy gets sucked out of me quickly. So if I do not wake early and do it while everyone is sleeping (except obviously me ugh lol) I will NOT get it done. Lesson learned. I am a EARLY morning runner. That's it. No if's, and's, or dang butt's! We live and we learn.
Now also speaking of energy. I have none. Like not just I am a mother I have no energy kind I mean really NO ENERGY. I asked a question on FB the other day if there was anyway of knowing you are anemic WITHOUT going to the dr's for blood work, since my household is uninsured. I do not think I have any of the signs. Just always fatigued. Besides I am sure I have bad circulation cause my hands and feet are ALWAYS ice cold. When I get cold my fingernails turn blue. I always seem to be freezing. Heck when people are sweating I seem to be shaking. My question to YOU folks is are there ANY vitamins that are known/supposed to help with energy or anything like that?! So many things I could research/look up but then I'd be bombarded with too much stuff and be overwhelmed. I do not want to take IRON pills if I do not need them. That I know can make you sick and I already take a multi vitamin daily.
I really HATE the no energy everyday. I look at my dvd's/workout tapes/workout equipment and WANTING to do them. Wanting to do so much, but simply not being able to cause I truly have no energy! I always had energy when I began. slowly started to deteriorate. I had MORE energy when I was 225 lbs then I do now, and then I did not want to work out and did. Now I want to, but can't.
I am still eating my calories! :) Making sure to meet them everyday. No more 1200 or less girl. Has been that way for a LONG time now. So glad I made that transformation!! Looking back at that and how long it took me to snap out of what I was doing to myself. So thankful for that. I thank my marathon I signed up for. THAT is what made me realize, and change.
I can NOT imagine how I would feel if I was still eating 1200!!! If I am eating MORE now 1400-1800 depending on the day, and I have no energy/lethargic can you imagine how I'd feel at 1200 or less?! WOW. :-\
On another "note" my body does NOT like ground meat. I have tried it couple times past 3 months. I NORMALLY would have ground TURKEY cause I do not like to eat much red meat (I only eat a 4 oz steak once a month for red meat that's all) BUT the past 3 months the grocery store I go to HAS NOT had ANY!!! Seriously. Grr....so I chose to do ground meat which was the SAME calories. Each time it upsets my stomach and I have GI issues. Well I made chili the other day and after 1 day I finally made decision I am not eating the rest of it (which happens to be 9 cups). Enough is enough. I am done.

Running from an Angel 1/2 Marathon 1-7-12 (My FIRST!)
I have been thinking about writing this race report since the day it happened. Even now I do not know what to really say about it. It was one that there was not much to say about.
I mean who wants to write a race report that is not a happy or a GREAT one period let alone regarding their FIRST 1/2?! Surely not me. I don't. Truth is though I have to.
It may not be the normal race report where I am gloating the whole time and & beyond happy. This is real though, and in life you will face these challenges. :)
Let me start with a little background starting 2 days before. (1-5-12) On this day I was worrying about EVERY last detail. Like seriously from start to finish, hows, whys, whats, whens, whos...ya you get it. This was a day of panic. On this day I also had dinner of undercooked pork. I popped it in microwave to try to cook it more but did not help much so I went w/ eating it since we were already really late for dinner.
Next day (1-6-12) I woke not feeling well. I just felt...ick. In the way that my stomach hurt, I had no appetite, I can't even describe it...I just did not feel "right". I chalked it up to nerves. That is when I wrote my last blog. Talking about the nerves.
TMI WARNING BELOW!!!!!
Later that night (still 1-6-12) at dinner time I was still feeling the same but little worse. I realized then...wait this can NOT be nerves. It never was. I had stomach cramps AND gas. The TMI warning is that the gas was beyond RANCID. So sorry for telling you this!! It was AWFUL. It would make you tear and gag. It was just bad bad BAD. I just wanted to not move the WHOLE day. I was so nausea, and miserable.
Now the morning of the race...(1-7-12)
I woke up feeling same way but probably even little more worse since now I did not want to even TRY to eat or drink anything. I just wanted to vomit, curl in a ball, and do anything BUT move. Frankly breathing made me nausea.
I FORCED myself to eat something since I knew even though I NEVER have eaten (except a banana) before a run I NEEDED to before my 1rst half and there was 2 hours before my race so it was perfect. I ate a whole wheat bagel thin, 1/2 TB grape jelly, & PB2, w/ a banana. I knew these things would not bother me BECAUSE I had eaten the jelly and bagel thin before on other items before a race (that was in afternoon) so they did not bother me separate they would be fine together.
I just wanted this day to be over with. There was no nerves, there was no jitters, there was no adrenaline (I always have those before a race!!) ALL there was was the intense feeling of wanting to vomit and poop my pants (literally again sorry!) at the same time.
I chomped on 2 tums shortly after and headed out for the long drive. ALL I could think about was "don't poop your pants" over and over again. Trust me I recited it over and over again from the time I woke up through out the WHOLE RUN!
We arrived & nothing was different then it had been EXCEPT there were no porta potties EXCEPT 1 in the middle of the race. Man I prayed literally to let me get through this NOT having to poop. I was truly miserable. I did not want to be there nor do it because I did not want to move. I felt so nasty.
Count down begins...10..9...8...7...6..5..4...3...2...1...and were off. I took off SLOWLY and remained SLOW the whole time. Those of you know during race time you naturally pick up speed and all the excitement. Ya...not today. Not for me. No way. Even if I wanted to try (which I did not) my body did NOT pick up any speed but instead LOST speed.
Right when we turn the corner (1/4 mile after start) there was the 1rst HILL. I literally said in my head (I don't THINK I said it out loud but I may have lol) SERIOUSLY? ALREADY?!!
This course is ALL rolling STEEP STEEP hills. Lord...help me. PLEASE?!
I chugged SLOW SLOW SLOW up the hills not caring because all I wanted to do was get itover with no matter what. I just wanted to go home.
Note: I do not mean to be a downer about my 1rst half but I felt like ^%$#.
I DID want to be there believe me that is why I went but at the same time I just wanted to crawl in a ball and vomit.
I was happy I was doing this. It just consisted of ALOT of mantras, talking to my self, struggling, and overwhelming urge to cry like a baby because I wanted to whine about not feeling good. I did not though. I held my head up and I chugged along. Telling myself only 12 miles to go. Water stop is only so and so amount ahead you can stop there.
When I went into this (I think before I realized I was sick) I planned on ONLY stopping at water stop @ miles 4 and 9 to grab ONLY a gel. I mean I payed $95 for this race (65 for race and 30 for entrance to area) LEAST I can do was get a gel since my calories wont allow me any of their food. I also brought my camelbak.
That was what was planned. Now what really happened was I stopped at ALOT more then just those.
I was doing great. I chugged along going uphill uphill uphill. I chose to take sips from my camelbak (which for long runs ALWAYS consist of 1/2 water, 1/2 powerade zero) when I passes a water stop. I did nto stop until mile 4 when I planned on it. I grabbed a gel and fought FOREVER to get it in ym pouch! Grr lol
So I walked through to grab that gel then started running again. I also grabbed cup of water. I had brought 2 GU's with me but I still wanted there gels (hammer gel) to have so I cna actually try them out. I was supposed to take my 1rst gel @ mile 5.
Well mile 5 passed and I did NOT want to take it. I swear I was so nausea that like before the idea of any liquid and/or food/gel or anything made me feel that much more worse. Mile 6 came and I knew I should take the gel. Just cause that is what I trained for. I could probably go w/o it the whole time but I should just take it. SO I did. UGH....I did not like that idea. Neither did my stomach. Can I puke now please? ::tummy thunder::
Up to this point I had only taken 2 SIPS of my camelbak stuff. When I drank it it made me feel so horrible. I just could not do it anymore.
Almost to the turnaround a running coach from FB I know saw me and "cheered" for me giving me a high five. Wow at that point you have no idea how much I needed that.
I reached the turnaround point. I called out my number so the person could record it saying I reached there...
I thought OMGoodness I am half way there!! I know I am making this sound so bad...I was not moping my whole time I just could not be jumping up and down on the outside like my mind and body was on the inside. I told myself alot of times Baby girl, WOMEN you are doing this...you are earning this. Get that bling baby!! :-D Among other things. I was happy and excited I was doing this. I mean I was doing this PERIOD, let alone I was PUSHING THROUGH when I felt horrible. That says alot about myself.
Starting mile 7 is when I had to walk so much more then I wanted to. A whole lot more. The hills were killing me, I was tired, I gave up on running the whole thing. I could not even tell you how much of running and walking I did. My legs burned, my lungs burned, my energy was never to be found to begin with, EVERYTHING in me wanted to quit...EXCEPT my heart. THAT is what I followed. I don't listen to the other things..I follow my heart when it comes to running. Everything else is just EVIL!
I walked through the rest of the stations to get water. THAT was the only thing I could drink. I NEEDED water. My body WANTED the water so I took it and gulped the whole dang full cup down. Awww...this is better!
I ran a few secs then had to walk. I do not mean like the Galloway method. There was not an ahh break feeling then able to push myself faster because of it. It was a I...want...to ...collapse....walking of 16+min per mile walk and then a prob even slower run. I could not run for long. At this point I was exhausted from the dang BRUTAL friggin hills! Let's not forget I never had energy.
Speaking of energy...GU did not help me. GU's have NEVER helped me. I tried them 2 other times and they did nothing for me but I thought I just needed to give them a chance. Nah they just dont work for me :( Hmm....
I never took my 2nd GU, For one because if the 1rst did not help and they never do why would I want to take a 2nd...and second MOST IMPORTANTLY there was no way my body would allow me to...unless I wanted to be in the pushed hurling.
I got to mile 12. :') ONLY 1 mile to go. I touched that mile 12 sign (I was walking up to it @ that point) took deep breath, and said to myself run this last mile. DO NOT WALK. Finish strong hun. You can do this!!
12.30 came and that went out the window. I would not finish if I did not walk all that I did. I do not know if it was cause the hills, cause I was not well, or heck both combined. I ran some walked some til 12.85 miles. I finally saw the downhill finish (1/4 mile) and ran it...ALL. FINALLY. haha
I turned a few corners and crossed over those finish mats.
The finish should be something exciting, but it wasn't. Nobody was cheering. Nobody was standing there clapping or smiling. As I turned those corners people stared at me with dead stares. Noone except the timing guy was there at the finish mats, and even HE had his head down.
My family was there indeed, but there backs were turned. They knew nothing until I walked up to them and said "wow...thanks.".
At this point my body was HURTING I wanted to cry. I mean literally it ached so bad. I had aches,pains, cramps, everything. It was taken my breath away. ALL I wanted to do was stretch cry, and drink all that water they had. So I got a few glasses and that is exactly what I did. We left right away and headed home.
That's it. I even had to stand at the finish line trying to get the medal from the kid handing them out. I was standing right in front of him WAITING for my medal. He didn't care. I had to say "um...do I get one of those?!" with an attitude he said "uh? YA!!" rolling his eyes. Ugh...kid your lucky you are under 18.
With all this I finished in 2:31:54.
Seem like a crappy 1rst 1/2?! Probably. I mean I agree it was. Would I change it if I could? NO!!!!
Do you know why?!
I finished! I did it! I got my bling! I was able to do something I never thought in a million years I would be able to do!
I pushed through my circumstances. Felling like HELL I was able to finish.
The hills were BEYOND brutal. Not just because I was sick..but because that is how they are. They are known to be brutal vicious steep rolling crappy hills!!

My July's 1/2 is the EXACT place with just a different name since it is in the dead HEAT.
I have my next 1/2 on March 10. That is when I have a 1/2 every 2 weeks for 6 weeks.
Will I do better?!
Probably not. I hope I do not do worse BUT I do not expect to do better. Why?!
Well cause EVERY single 1/2 is HILLS!!! My next one is told/known to be ALOT worse then this one. So I can only expect to do same if not a little worse.
Know what matters to me? That I FINISH! That's all!
I wore my bling the WHOLE...ENTIRE...DAY! ;)
I am not just saying this folks I mean it...I thought of you guys while I was running it. ALL the encouragement, words, hugs, spirit, EVERYTHING you guys have shown me daily was with me and still is. You guys are my family! I thank EACH and EVERYONE of you from the bottom of my heart!

I know I am making this sound so bad...I was not moping my whole time I just could not be jumping up and down on the outside like my mind and body was on the inside. I told myself alot of times Baby girl, WOMEN you are doing this...you are earning this. Get that bling baby!! :-D Among other things. I was happy and excited I was doing this. I mean I was doing this PERIOD, let alone I was PUSHING THROUGH when I felt horrible. That says alot about myself.
Starting mile 7 is when I had to walk so much more then I wanted to. A whole lot more. The hills were killing me, I was tired, I gave up on running the whole thing. I could not even tell you how much of running and walking I did. My legs burned, my lungs burned, my energy was never to be found to begin with, EVERYTHING in me wanted to quit...EXCEPT my heart. THAT is what I followed. I don't listen to the other things..I follow my heart when it comes to running. Everything else is just EVIL!
I walked through the rest of the stations to get water. THAT was the only thing I could drink. I NEEDED water. My body WANTED the water so I took it and gulped the whole dang full cup down. Awww...this is better!
I ran a few secs then had to walk. I do not mean like the Galloway method. There was not an ahh break feeling then able to push myself faster because of it. It was a I...want...to ...collapse....walking of 16+min per mile walk and then a prob even slower run. I could not run for long. At this point I was exhausted from the dang BRUTAL friggin hills! Let's not forget I never had energy.
Speaking of energy...GU did not help me. GU's have NEVER helped me. I tried them 2 other times and they did nothing for me but I thought I just needed to give them a chance. Nah they just dont work for me :( Hmm....
I never took my 2nd GU, For one because if the 1rst did not help and they never do why would I want to take a 2nd...and second MOST IMPORTANTLY there was no way my body would allow me to...unless I wanted to be in the pushed hurling.
I got to mile 12. :') ONLY 1 mile to go. I touched that mile 12 sign (I was walking up to it @ that point) took deep breath, and said to myself run this last mile. DO NOT WALK. Finish strong hun. You can do this!!
12.30 came and that went out the window. I would not finish if I did not walk all that I did. I do not know if it was cause the hills, cause I was not well, or heck both combined. I ran some walked some til 12.85 miles. I finally saw the downhill finish (1/4 mile) and ran it...ALL. FINALLY. haha
I turned a few corners and crossed over those finish mats.
The finish should be something exciting, but it wasn't. Nobody was cheering. Nobody was standing there clapping or smiling. As I turned those corners people stared at me with dead stares. Noone except the timing guy was there at the finish mats, and even HE had his head down.
My family was there indeed, but there backs were turned. They knew nothing until I walked up to them and said "wow...thanks.".
At this point my body was HURTING I wanted to cry. I mean literally it ached so bad. I had aches,pains, cramps, everything. It was taken my breath away. ALL I wanted to do was stretch cry, and drink all that water they had. So I got a few glasses and that is exactly what I did. We left right away and headed home.
That's it. I even had to stand at the finish line trying to get the medal from the kid handing them out. I was standing right in front of him WAITING for my medal. He didn't care. I had to say "um...do I get one of those?!" with an attitude he said "uh? YA!!" rolling his eyes. Ugh...kid your lucky you are under 18.
With all this I finished in 2:31:54.
Seem like a crappy 1rst 1/2?! Probably. I mean I agree it was. Would I change it if I could? NO!!!!
Do you know why?!
I finished! I did it! I got my bling! I was able to do something I never thought in a million years I would be able to do!
I pushed through my circumstances. Felling like HELL I was able to finish.
The hills were BEYOND brutal. Not just because I was sick..but because that is how they are. They are known to be brutal vicious steep rolling crappy hills!!

My July's 1/2 is the EXACT place with just a different name since it is in the dead HEAT.
I have my next 1/2 on March 10. That is when I have a 1/2 every 2 weeks for 6 weeks.
Will I do better?!
Probably not. I hope I do not do worse BUT I do not expect to do better. Why?!
Well cause EVERY single 1/2 is HILLS!!! My next one is told/known to be ALOT worse then this one. So I can only expect to do same if not a little worse.
Know what matters to me? That I FINISH! That's all!
I wore my bling the WHOLE...ENTIRE...DAY! ;)
I am not just saying this folks I mean it...I thought of you guys while I was running it. ALL the encouragement, words, hugs, spirit, EVERYTHING you guys have shown me daily was with me and still is. You guys are my family! I thank EACH and EVERYONE of you from the bottom of my heart!

Dang you nerves....
My nerves are plain out SHOT! They have NEVER been like this before! I slept just BARELY last night. Hard time falling asleep, hard time staying asleep, waking up super early.
To top it off I have no appetite, I am exhausted so all I want to do is SLEEP, my tummy is upset and I feel nausea!
I do not want to do anything except lay down stare ahead and NOT move, ALL....DAY...LONG.
That is how I started feeling last night. My nerves are plain out SHOT BECCCAAUUUSSEEE of my first 1/2 tomorrow!
I am a worry wart. Not just saying I mean REALLY. I have to PLAN everything out from the 1rst to last second. I HAVE to KNOW what I am goign to do before I do it.
So I have been FREAKING out on every little detail about the 1/2.
98% of the worry revolves around the issue of whether or not I want to bring my camelbak. I was sure I was NOT goign to but now I think I AM. There are so many pros and cons either way. Though there seems to be ALOT more CONS to BRINGING it. Thing is though the one big CON that is outweighing the pros of NOT bringing it is I WONT HAVE IT IF I NEED IT.
If this was a NORMAL flat 13 miler I would w/o a doubt not be questioning it. I mean my normal training runs of 13 miles I use 1 cup of 1/2 powerade zero 1/2 water solution. ONLY 1 cup the whole way. THIS course though is all HUGE hills...HUGE rolling HILLS.
I have never ran so many hills PERIOD let alone 13 miles of them. If you have ever ran hills I would hope you would know what a difference it makes in your breathing, and the way you feel.
Then I wanted to FORCE myself to WALK through the water stations so I can get used to it. I mean for my 1rst FULL in November I want to walk through the stations JUST to give my legs a LITTLE break so I make it through the 26.2 miles. If I am wearing my camelbak though I figure why do I need to walk through them if I have my own drink? I wont do it tomorrow and I wont do it for my full.
I AM going to walk through stations 4 and 9 though. JUST so I can grab a hammer gel. I have never tried them, and I am bringing my own GU's BUT I paid $95 (30 to enter lake mead & 65 for race) dang it and I am getting "nothing" except the bling, since I can not eat their food. Already planned tomorrow and have NO CALORIES to spare. So LEAST I can get out of it is 2 gels!! Then I can try them @ home one time.
I really dislike the unknown. I have never been this freaked out about a run/race EVER! I just do not feel "well". My nerves have gotten he best of me and this plain out sucks.
I know I need to enjoy it, and I hope & imagine when tomorrow comes I will. Well as MUCH as you can enjoy TORTUROUS killer hills that is. LOL.
I am just so beyond nervous, scared, worried, and whatever else you can think.
I have to do CORE ST'ing today...and I have to find the power to do it. Seriously I really don't want to. I don't feel good.
I know when it comes to these things...knowing what is going to happen and how you are going to feel is IMPOSSIBLE.
Right now I just know my tummy is upset, I am not hungry, I don't want to eat drink or talk, and on a positive note...
I WILL FINISH MY FIRST HALF TOMORROW! NO...matter...what.

My 1rst half is in 2 days!!
There really is not much to say...I have been a ball of nerves (only @ moments through out the day) for a while now because of the thought of this.
It happens in 2 days. Just 2 days. Oh geez. I can't help but to keep looking & reciting in my head what my MEDAL HOLDER says "Always Earned Never Given". Damn right! I am going to EARN this medal. I will either DRAG myself on my hands through the finish, and/or collapse when I finish! HAHA okok maybe not either, but still!! <em>334</em>
I was supposed to go on a 60 min walk yesterday & the next 2 days, BUT my legs are so fatigued. I mean REALLY fatigued. So so soooo heavy. So I am not doing ANYTHING except my 1 mile run @ night. To try and give them a rest. I can only HOPE they are not like this on Saturday!
I posted this in a group I am in on Facebook that is of running girl here local (never met any of them) about the 1/2: Tomorrow I pick up my packet for Angel race....my 1rst 1/2 marathon. Oh geez...my tummy is in a knot thinking of it. My legs are so fatigued since yesterday. Like REALLY fatigued. So so heavy. :-\ I was supposed to walk 60 mins yesterday and today but I am not doing ANYTHING except 1 mile run tonight JUST so I can give them rest. I only HOPE that they are not like this come Saturday!! I hope I see SOMEONE from here there. :) I'll be the puggy little girl in fetal position on the ground rocking saying "Hills are my friend, I think I can I think I can I think I can...uh 13 miles? I don't know!!" :-P
Love it lol.
I also hope their stations are stocked good enough FOR ME. I am NOT wearing my camel back that I wear all the time while training. I want to be "free" and I have never heard anything bad about their stations. I just hope I can go that long w/o water and not need it sooner cause of the hills. During my normal runs I only take 2-3 sips so...that has me nervous but it's what I want to do. The stations will be about every 1.5 miles.
Not much more to say. It is only 8 am.
I really do not like to do NOTHING. I go nuts and I feel so guilty!!! I NEED to be doing something. Hmm...... I will be doing upper body ST'ing today.

The world & it's pushing influences/standards...Some run talk. (Maybe little long)
I have no idea why I came up w/ that title.
I have been "struggling" with my mind, going back & forth on decisions I have made a while back regarding my training plan for my FULL marathon (my 1rst!) coming in November. I figured out what I wanted to do, or should I say NOT do. I was good with it, and then....recently , blah.
Just about EVERY day there is SOMEONE, or SOMETHING saying what you should or should not do for training for/running a marathon. It is overwhelming & just done right ANNOYING now. It has drove me nuts far to long. I am tired of "doubting" myself & the plans I have made.
There is ALWAYS some kind of article or person telling me I need to do this, or I should be doing this, or this is right, this is wrong. I have let it get the best of me sometimes.
I have not been upset or sad or anything drag me down kind of way but I HAVE been getting overwhelmed and feeling like I am losing my mind, and frankly doing it ALL WRONG when it comes to my running.
I am no expert and I do not know what will work for others, but what I do know is what my GUT is telling me to do. To bad my mind won't shut it's mouth!!
I am "tired" of the influences/standards trying to be PUSHED onto me. Whether it be by someone who has NEVER run before, or someone who has run 1000000000000 marathons. JUST because something works for you does not mean it is right for others. If there was a "RIGHT" way of doing it then EVERYONE would agree and there would only be ONE way not 1000 ways and a MILLION articles published everyday telling you what you are to do.
I will be following my OWN plan for my marathon in the way of I will be doing my NORMAL 1 hour run 2 days a week, HILL run every other week, and LSD on weekend when I have the TIME to. I am following the RUNNERS WORLD plan ONLY for LSD runs.
No I am not following the plan and running 5 days a week. I am only running 3-4. No I am not following the plan and running 50 miles a week, nor am I following the plan and running MORE then the 5-5.5 miles I can run in that HOUR of running I will do during the week. No I am not doing speed work nor tempo runs nor anything else. I am JUST going to run.
I do not care what Jeff, Hal, Runner's world, etc say. I CARE what I say.
I have come this far (13.1 mile runs for "FUN") by adding my own mileage doing my own thing.
What do I want from my MARATHON..I just want to do it!!! I want to finish I want that medal and I want to say I DID it!
Listening &/or reading all this "junk" being thrown/pushed on/at me is not FUN. It takes the FUN out of running. When it no longer becomes FUN, it is no longer enjoyable. I want to run FOREVER not just for RIGHT now.
Now PLEASE noone get me wrong if you have followed a plan and done wonderful..CONGRATS. You CHOSE to follow that & do what you did. AWESOME JOB!! I....I just am not choosing to drown in the information that is bombarding me every time I turn on my dang computer. Ugh. I will no longer feel like I NEED to do this or I NEED to do that. Nor will I feel like I am FAILING because I can't or will NOT do what this ir that person says to do. Heck if I followed everyone I'd be running 7 days a week 60 miles a day at a 1 min/mile pace.

I also read today that you should not do more then ONE 20 mile run in your training when OTHERS say MORE then one 20 mile run. Well I am running 3 20 mile runs. So...
All that I have said ABOVE is not with an attitude, or anything else. The whole time I have been writing I am happy, and smiling. I mean NO HARM or no NEGATIVENESS. I just mean enough is enough FOR ME.
Next...running subject. My IT Band. I do not know what I have done right and I am not questioning it. I just would like to know so I can KEEP doing it!! I have been PAIN FREE for 6 runs now!!! The ONLY difference there has been is the day BEFORE it STOPPED hurting I started walking ONE hour a DAY. SO ONLY thing that makes sense to me is that walking has been working muscles that running does not. I have had a TWINGE once or twice where it felt like ti was starting back up...at that point I WALKED for MAYBE 30 secs just to relax it, then picked right back up on running. Has not happened EVERYTIME just once during a run every now and then.
I have my VERY FIRST HALF marathon in just 3 days!!!! Look at the ELEVATION/HILL chart for what I will be facing...
Oh me oh my!!
Now on another subject...
I have me walking 60 mins a day, doing my ST'ing & doing everything right. I will leave it at that lol. I find it SO AMAZING how what bloat goes away (from eating bad last year holidays) you feel a HUGE difference & it is so noticeable. I am actually looking forward to weigh in's!!
I have been relaxed, remaining positive, and staying motivated. Has nothing to do with the 1rst of year. I do not make resolutions. I make goals. My goals are not any different then the ones I already had in 2011. I am tired of having the same goal since 2010.
DO I want to lose this last bit of weight? YES!! DO I want to hurry? NO!! All I am MAINLY focused on right now is training and being able to run my 1/2's and marathon. Weight will do what it wants. I just know I am and will be doing everything right.
I am known to worry about every last detail constantly 24/7. I am a big ball of worry. Well maybe I shall reword that. I WAS. I am doing my best to think of it as it is out of my hands, so what is the point of worrying?! It is out of my control nothing I can do about it.
Such as I will name ONE thing...last night I got a letter from Medicaid (only assistance I have ever been able to get from Government!) saying ym children my pride and joys...have been terminated because we make to much. Do you know how much more?...50.00 more. (My hubby is working ONE job now 6 hours a day 5 days a week) So now my boys have NO INSURANCE. I was relaxed...ALL I thought was nothing I cna do. It is out of my hands, out of my control. Worrying about tomorrow will only shed today of it's happiness. As well as one last thought...Don't worry when good things go bad...life is only making way for something better.
When I said NEW YEAR NEW ME. I meant it.

Do you know how much more?...50.00 more. (My hubby is working ONE job now 6 hours a day 5 days a week) So now my boys have NO INSURANCE. I was relaxed...ALL I thought was nothing I cna do. It is out of my hands, out of my control. Worrying about tomorrow will only shed today of it's happiness. As well as one last thought...Don't worry when good things go bad...life is only making way for something better.
When I said NEW YEAR NEW ME. I meant it.

Yesterday's weigh in/progress pictures.
I did not have the chance to post yesterday so I am posting the weigh in

I did my 1 mile run yesterday (any day I do not normally run I will be running 1 mile), and did my normal 5 miles today. :)

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012! My Goals.
I could make this a drawn out blog to where I just end up saying the awful truth after making myself feel horrible possibly. I won't though. In all honesty I am now EXACTLY where I was the 1rst of last year. Same weight. To some it may be "that's good" but it's not. This was the SECOND year I said it was going to be MY year where I become a maintainer. It wasn't. Heck I am starting 10 lbs above my goal weight. JUST...LIKE...LAST...YEAR. Blah, blah, BLAH! I do not get THIS high until these past holidays. Anyways WHATEVER. I am not dwelling on it. Enough is enough. :)
As I said my weight is where I started 2011. Better then being HIGHER! My running on the other hand...:'-D I started 2011 with only being able to run 3.1 miles. I am starting 2012 with being able to run 13.1!!!!
I accomplished my other goal I made for 2011. Doing 1 race a month for 2011. I have completed 13 races. They include 8 5k's, 4 10k's, and 1 9.11k. I ran my 1rst 5k and my 1rst 10k this year!
I am so amazed and proud of that!!!

I will be completing my 1rst HALF marathon in EXACTLY one week from today (Jan 7)!! I will also be completing few others. I have 5 planned for this year SO FAR including the one I run next week.
Come July I will be training for my FIRST EVER FULL MARATHON!!
So 2012 I will start with being able to run 13.1 miles and end it being able to run 26.2!!
With the training I HOPE to get more miles then 2011. I am not 100% sure it is correct but according to my logging of my runs I have logged 704.21 miles ran for this year. I KNOW it is not LESS but if anything I could have forgotten to log one or a few. I do not believe I did forget but ya never know!
So 704.21 is AWESOME!!! :') I did all those miles!! I will be logging my miles on my computer this time around so I know what I end 2012 with!!
Now regarding weight...by golly!!! I WILL NOT END THIS YEAR THE SAME WEIGHT I AM NOW!! I will reach my goal weight by the end of the year!! IF I do not I will be at least 135 lbs!!!
I will blog at least ONCE a week.
I will run 1 mile a day for as long as possible. Come July when I start training I will PROBABLY stop. Who knows I will try my best though!
I will get in 60 mins a day for as many days as I can. I would like to do 7 days, but I would not mind at least 5/7!

Oh the colors I will be!
Lovely title huh? :) It is named that because I am excited about a 5k run I signed up for on Feb 25! I am done with 5k's and for the most part 10k's. I might give some thought to 10k's but I really just want to do 1/2's for 2012 up until July when I marathon train for my Marathon on Nov 3! Anyways I signed up for this run because frankly it makes me happy inside and gets me so excited because it will be a BLAST!
It is a run where every 1K they throw color dust @ you and by the end you look colorful like Willy Wonka! The finish is a color extravaganza with a BUNCH of colors!! When I was directed to this yesterday on FB (registration opened yesterday as well) I automatically knew HOLY HEAVENS you MUST do it!! It will be so fun and an AMAZING experience! I will have a BLAST and let loose!! Here is the link to the site!

Tomorrow I am supposed to run 13 miles. I had planned on it. I took all week off (6 days) from running. Just NOW (like as I type this, right this second) thought I should not jump from resting to 13 miles. I should pick back up on Monday with my normal 5 miler. What do you think?! I think that would be best. Small 5 miles as I would do any other Monday. That gave my body 8 days of "rest". Though I feel it did no good because I still have the pulling in my leg. Still telling me "yup I am still here. To bad so sad!"
More and more I think about it I really wish I had insurance cause frankly I REALLY need it. I am falling apart. I am having teeth problems where I can not eat on my left side and it's just getting worse. I am having IT Band problems, Sciatic problems, Pififormis problems, and my Bulging dics problems!! All which are related to the other. They are all linked to one another. So that does not help. I was diagnosed with bulging discs 2 years ago when I last had insurance by MINIMAL tests. They could not do any other tests or find out if it was worse because I refused anything more because I was breastfeeding and would have to stop and that was not going to happen! So it could have been worse. Anywho they "went away" (or should I say went into hiding) after 6 months of NOT running, when I finally said I quit..I am running! So now since I have had these other issues with my IT and Piriformis and etc....the "pain" has come back. The damn bulging discs are back!!!
Whatever. :) I am done. Next subject...
I can NOT wait for the new year!! 2012 will be just HAS TO BE my year I become a maintainer! No more excuses no more "mistakes" just NO MORE CRAP!! How's that?! :-P
I need to sit down and write up my goals for 2012. Word for word so when December ends I can blog about it.

Oh how NOT running effects thy.... (Long & Rants)
It effects me in so many ways, that just plain out sucks. SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!
I had planned on not running for 6 days (I plan on running my long run on Sat but I am not sure) to give my IT band/ piriformis a chance to "heal", not heal, feel better, do SOMETHING other then bother me! So I have not been running and I am going NUTS.
I am in such a slump right now for so many reasons. I have been doing NOTHING all day (besides house work I mean fitness wise). I have not even been doing ST'ing. I feel so SAD. Like what is the point.
I know there IS a point and many reason I should but running is the ONLY cardio I get. It is the GO TO, it is my EVERYTHING. I HATE doing videos now. Thank you running for making me hate them lol. Before running that is all I would all day, now that I run I can not stand to be in front of TV. It is like overwhelming and makes me feel claustrophobic. I can't stay in one place.
I can't walk outside because I have my boys and back in the day I would take them with me, but it is just beyond too cold to take them out with me. I don't like taking them out and having them sit in their wagon in the cold. I do not have time any other time to go by myself.
My glute and IT band are not SORE anymore when I roll. They do not HURT or BOTHER me at ALL when I ROLL. SO they do not seem to be tight. EXCEPT my IT Band is still bothering me. I feel so helpless, and I literally see my running dreams crashing down in front of me, Seriously. It has got me in a "mood" where I feel like just bawling and I am so sad. Grr.
When I say I see my running dreams coming crashing down I seriously mean I stare ahead and I see building coming down like the twin towers. I am sorry to mention the towers but I literally see them falling and those are my running dreams.
I can't see how I am going to be able to do my 1rst 1/2 marathon first week of Jan or the others to follow that, or how I can't even do that so How am I going to do a marathon. I just do not see any of that happening. EVERYTHING I wished, dreamed, and worked so hard for...getting demolished!
My eating has been horrible. The I feel sorry for myself and I just do not care anymore eating. Thing is though I do care. Each and every moment I think about what I am putting in my mouth and the wanting to get back on track but I "can't" right now because I do not want to mentally. I want to eat myself sick because I am "deserving" of it because I can't even run right. I am a failure.
NOW DO NOT GET ME WRONG...I know I am NOT a failure. I know I could not help that this has happened. I KNOW the way I feel and am going about things right now is "WRONG". I know this. Right now though I am feeling hopeless. I am allowed to feel this. I need to shape up sooner then later. I keep telling my self that the new year will be it. No more "mistakes".
For the past 2 yes TWO years I have said that 2010 would be the year I became a maintainer, and then the same for 2011. Now...once again 2012!
The other day Shawn had a migraine. Long story short as always/usual. I took care of the boys and he slept all day long I kid you not. So I made sure boys were quiet (to the best of my ability) I let him stay sleeping on the couch. I put the alarm on the couch so he would wake up for work next morning, I set up his clothes, I did everything to make sure he was set for work next day. Since he did not "care". Next morning when I got up...I woke to being overwhelmed frustrated upset, and "pissed" to the point where I bawled. Just like a baby. I was so "sad" at the point of realizing that I take care of everyone else and I am EXHAUSTED. It's a B%&*$ when it HITS you that you will never get rest nor the RESPECT you give to others. The idea that I gave him what he needed, REST. The man works 6 days a week from 2am-7pm 5 of those days. His temp job is done as of the 24th so he will be working only 4-6 hours for now on, BUT I have never gotten that I will never get that, it just is not "fair". Just that morning BEFORE he had gotten the headache I wanted to "relax" on the couch I was dozing off and he was too busy NOT paying attention to HIS kids as USUAL and they were bugging me. He even came over to me and asked if I was tired and falling asleep. I said yes (I mean eve if I was not my arms was over my eyes and I was LAYING DOWN so I obviously wanted to relax and HELL I DESERVE TO RELAX! Yet he walked away continued not watching them and here they go bugging me again RAMMING into me as I TRY to sleep. Heh. I get the crap of "I have no problem watching them while you go and relax or sleep in". Bull %^$%!!!! I told him this time and time again including YESTERDAY. He has told me how awesome I was and am for "taking care of him" and givi9ng him that day of rest/sleep. I know this, but don't I deserve the same AWESOMENESS?! YES!
I told him you tell me ALL the time that you have no problem with watching your own children but you can't even watch them for a few mins when I am laying on the couch! If they were being WATCHED they would not be able to make there way to "bug" me. If they were being watched they would not be able to find the way back to the house to the bathroom to find me when your supposed to keeping an eye on them. If they were being WATCHED they would not be able to come back into my bedroom and jump on me while I lay there, or be able to bang down my door calling MOM MOM MOM MOM MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so on so on so on.... you get the picture.
So I woke that morning overwhelmed and "pissed" that I always am the one taking care of everyone else. I do it with a problem. I do it without wanting anything in return. I did it not being upset. I just woke to realizing I will never have the same in return, and that my friends is a kick in the nuts. Sorry for the terms. OUCH. I also was rushing cause I had to go to an appt...just to go and find out that it is NEXT Monday. I went on Monday but a Monday to soon. I knew it was on the 19th but I thought it WAS the 19th already! Wow.
I "ordered" (I had credit on Amazon so did not have to actually pay for it) 2 DVD's of Jillian Michaels. They should be here tomorrow. 1 is yoga, and 1 is buns and thighs. I want to TRY anything to strengthen my hips, thighs, glutes hoping that MAYBE it has SOMETHING to do with my IT Band/ Piriformis issues.
Yes I know though I can't stand doing DVD's so how am I going to do them? Do not know. Sigh.
With Christmas coming it makes it a little more "depressing". My oldest Izick keeps talking about Santa and gifts. Coming out of his room saying nope no Santa or gifts yet. I have TRIED explaining it is not about that. He is expecting stuff and the idea of him only getting one tiny little thing (because that is all he IS getting due to not being able to afford anything, no not a sob story just real) bothers me. I told him today that if he gets a doll he needs to be happy with it....well it resulted in NO's, yelling at me, calling me names, and so much more.
Izick is almost 5 and he has been horrible recently. Attitude, telling me off, saying alot of things no child should say. I have done EVERYTHING aside from hitting him with a belt. I could say so much more of the way he is acting but I wont. Of course my little man Gavin does EVERYTHING his older brother does...so you get the picture.
I hate knowing I can not get them anything for Christmas. I wanted to sign up for Angel tree, but I was too late. :-
I have no gotten anything from Santa in so many years. SO I have my own little material wish list. I never celebrated growing up because well my dad... he is the DEVIL. Yup. So of course the whole you want your kids to have what you never did.
I have 3 things I want.
1. Jessie J cd
2. Paramore cd
3. Elliptical
My NON MATERIAL list is so long. SO SO long. I am blessed in so many ways and I want things to stay this way if not better. I just want the same things I already have day after day. That is all. Oh except I would LOVE to have my running dreams renewed and not have an injury anymore.

Piriformis muscle the cause of my IT band problems?
If you have read my last couple blogs you would know that my IT Band has been bothering me so very much.
Ever since my LONG run of 13 miles last Wednesday (so 1 week ago). I did EVERYTHING that day trying to get it to relax. I did RICE, I took Ibuprofen, stretched, rolled, prayed...EVERYTHING you could think of or read about.
The next day Thursday it let up SOME, was not hurting like ti did day before BUT had the dull ache and pulling sensation. Come Friday it was FINE. Back to normal. Saturday was my Santa 5k and it did JUST FINE. Gave me no problem what so ever.
Then this Monday when I ran my 5 mile PACE run it was ALRIGHT. Around 2 miles it started giving me the DULLEST of aches, and pulling. Through out the day it started bothering me more. So I did what I had done since it started bothering me...FOAM ROLLED it. I just kept and still keep doing it.
The next day Tuesday was my HILL running, it did OK but started hurting. SO when I did downhill I WALKED. That seems to help a bit. When I got home I took an Ibuprofen and rolled it. The I started freaking out. This whole time I have been freaking out. Ya know the what am I to do, I can't do anything professionally cause I have no insurance and can't afford to pay for it out of pocket, I can't stop running, my dreams are crashing down in front of me kind of freaking!
When I roll my IT Band it does not hurt whatsoever like it did when I FIRST did it. Does not bother me and does not feel knotted. Does not phase me anymore.
Well on Tuesday I was trying stretches that I stated did not work for me (still do not). They always target the wrong areas seriously. Like you are supposed to feel it in your thigh I feel it in my CALF. SO ya. Anywho I was trying one out and it ended up pulling my Piriformis muscle. In other words my butt. Well I kid you not....my IT Band pain...disappeared!! Like it was full blown bothering me then I did that stretch and my knee bent and felt brand new!!!
Are you kidding me?? What the heck just happened?! So I came to the conclusion that MUST be a HUGE problem that is causing my IT Band to hurt! I do not know how but it is!? So...I started rolling that muscle, and OMGoodness did and does it hurt!! Now my butt is so beyond sore it is not even funny. I feel like I have been hit by a truck.
It is so beyond tight it wont let up.

I did my 5 mile run this morning and most of it was ok. I tried running in the street, the gutter, and the side walk. Just to see. I ALWAYS run in the gutter. Which is a major problem. When I was running in the street that was the only thing to get my IT Band to let up and stop aching/hurting. The side walk was better then the gutter but still. The problem is there is no room here to run in the street with cars. Where I run there are no bike lanes, the street is busy, and the lanes are big enough just for a car. :( Then towards the end of my run (4 miles) it started hurting/aching no matter what.
There is no grass areas for me to run on. Just rude cars with no room for me to run next to, and extremely slanted gutters and sidewalks. I can not run on a track either because 1. they are in a school and wont let you use them when I run and 2. way too far for me to walk. So no luck there.
I rolled both my IT and my butt out BEFORE and AFTER my run.
So I have found out those things. I have no idea why or IF the problem is my Piriformis muscle, but I do know that it is extremely tight and when I loosen it up (for the brief 5 mins it stays loose as long as I do not run) my IT band stops hurting.

IT Band stretches do NOT work for me!!?
My IT band started acting up again today on my run. I even stopped running 2 times to "stretch" then when my 5 miler was done I stopped and stretched before I walked home. NO stretches what so ever work for me EXCEPT rolling on the foam roller. I NEED to find one that works standing. I need to find SOMETHING that will work when I need to stop to stretch it out. I do not get it. I have no idea what I am doing wrong or why it does not work.
I either feel NOTHING or I feel it in the WRONG places. Standing stretches do not work, sitting stretches do not work, twisting & looking like contortionist does not work!
Do not know what else to do.
I do not even know how to properly warm up before I run...unless what I am doign is proper. I run slow for about 1 mile. By slow I mean slower then I set out to do. Such as today I did about 12 min.mile for 1 mile then started doing my pace of 11 min/mile.
Anyone know what I can do to get the exercises to work for me?!! Or how about something that WILL work for me besides rolling it out?! Do I roll it out BEFORE I run?! ADVICE please?!

Just pictures of today's great day...
Today MANY things happened not really much to say so I will post pictures of couple.
Today was my last race of 2011. I made a goal to do a race EVERY month. I accomplished that today.
So because I accomplished that Shawn got me a trophy, which was a lovely, sweet, wonderful, awesome surprise/gift! It says Congratulations on completing you goal! It is HUGE and my first and I imagine ONLY one I will ever get. Frankly I like this way better then having to COMPETE for it. I don't do that. ;)
I also got my brakes finally fixed in the van.
I ran today's run/race WITHOUT an MP3 player (I can NEVER run without music so I thought ;)) because it decided to NOT work BOTH times I trued. I charged it all day yesterday and yet it seemed to start then die and the battery was yellow. Heh go figure. So I ran the whole thing w/o it and did just fine and it was AWESOME. My Garmin only showed 2.90 miles...I imagine because by the time we started to be able to run it was way past when we started because there was OVER 10,000 people there! So Garmin did not pick up my walking as moving.
I got my bling oops I mean medal holder haha AND my ifitness belt in the mail today. I tell you what I can NOT believe I never knew about the fuel belt before today. I am so beyond glad I got it!!! It is a life saver and feels like I am not wearing anything and truly amazing!!
All this also means to me that NOW I am going to accomplish crazy miles and do crazy things I never thought I would be able to do or do at all. I am so ready for 2012. 2012 will be the year where I truly prove to myself what my HEART already knew. I am capable, can , and WILL do anything and everything I put my mind to.

Feeling tired, & in a LITTLE slump...
Ever since Wednesday when I ran my 13 miles I have felt like I am in "slump". As of Thursday (so yesterday?) I have been what I feel VERY LAZY. I have no energy both mentally and physically. I have NOT done my ST'ing when I know I should because I am just tired and in no mood. I have not done laundry and I tell ya I kid you not I SERIOUSLY have 20 loads. I know I need to but once again I am feeling too tired. I am supposed to do ST'ing today and guess what...I feel too tired. It takes one second to pick up the weights or get done on the ground and do my exercises but that requires energy, and that my friends I do NOT have AT ALL.
All I want to do is collapse on the floor and lay there while watching tv. I have thought this for 2 days now but with 2 boys who won't allow me , I guess I can't. They are screaming, making a mess, screaming at eachother, choking eachother, making eachother bleed, or doing something else. Literally every second my boys are being plain out HORRIBLE.
SO that probably does not help what-so-ever since I can't recover the way I should. I can not catch a break or relax.
My eating as well has had me feeling RAVAGED...what the heck? It does not hit me til night time. I have NOT been "bad" or anything. So that is the GOOD NEWS. :) I went over my calories by 20 yesterday but that is about all. Too meet my calories now a days I consume DOUBLE portion for dinner. By that I mean double the fish (when I have fish. not meat because that is too much meat for me), and always double the veggies. I have also had double BLT sandwiches (turkey bacon baby!) and I am just not satisfied! Really!!?? I used to be STUFFED w/ just ONE sandwich and now 2 is not enough? What is going on?! Eh.
I have so much to do....so so much! I just do not want to do it. ::sigh::
I have my Santa Run tomorrow (5k "race") though it will def be a fun run since there will be OVER 10,000 people there so there is NO WAY I can get through them all or start at the front because it will be crowded. :-\ Then after tomorrow...it will only be 1/2 marathons for 2012 AND my FULL! Oh Lord! ::biting nails::

My 1rst 13.1 miles at home.....
Lord where do I start?! It was THE hardest run EVER. Not the hardest mentally AT ALL but the hardest PHYSICALLY!
Mentally I did just fine and wonderful!!! So wonderful that I did not let my physical challenges stop me or put a damper in my I am not worried about this run because I GOT THIS attitude. :) I was so worried about this run all week..Heck I was worried/nervous about this run the day AFTER my long run LAST WEEK. Go figure ;) I did not get any sleep last night either due to being worried about it. Technically I did get some sleep I got 2 hours of sleep. So when I woke for the final time (earlier then I had planned due to waking AGAIN) I was not worried. Weird. I had the whatever (in a good way!) attitude. Like I got this so it's all good. :) No idea where that came from but I will take it!! LOL
Now physically...oh geez! I do not even know where to start what to say or when it started, but the 1rst 5 miles were ROUGH energy wise. I had energy but I was like oh my gosh this is kinda hard (my breathing was harder) I just wanted to get to 5 miles so I could FUEL with my Sport beans! Which BTW was the 1rst time I tried them( more on that later).
My right knee started bothering me @ about 2 miles. Seriously. So because it was acting up I could not bend it much like you should because it ached (IT band) which meant my left leg had to accommodate for it which led it to SLAP the ground :( Then it eventually got a LITTLE better where I didnt have to slap the ground and it did not ache SO MUCH . It was about my turn around (so 6.5 miles in) then it started up again @ 9 I will guess and the on again off again continued til about 12 where it stayed aching for the last mile. This was my first turn around route as well usually do around route kind of thing, but now running 13 miles (& eventually marathon training) I have no choice but turn arounds.
I have NEVER had to deal with the IT band thing. Man I tell you it plain out SUCKS and HURTS! I have no idea what started it and why. :(
I came home and rolled it out, and rolled it out, and yes you guessed it rolled it out! ROLLING IT OUT HURTS SO BAD!! Hurt in the way of OUCH this is supposed to feel good? Heh far from it lol. Eh. Now regarding the sport beans...they were the cherry extreme kind. Came with 15 (yes I opened and counted so I knew how many to take when.) :-D I took 5 @ miles 5,7, and 9. Yesterday I smelled them and though ugh. They just smelled like I would not be able to "like" them and just be able to "tolerate" them, but to my surprise YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) They were a treat in my mouth and I looked forward to mile 7 and 9 when I could take them AGAIN hehe... Thing I do not like so much is the BIG bag they come in. You have to shove your fingers in there and TRY to get them all while running. They should come in HALF the size bag so it is ALOT easier to grab them!
I have been worrying about how I am going to be able to run an actual half marathon "race". Races are SOOOOOOO much different them runs @ home. I have worried since my last 10k race this month (bout 2 weeks ago). Will I be able to do it? Yes. I would like to think and believe so. Will I be "miserable" Yes I will. Not in the I am not enjoying this but in the way of when will it be over this is hard kind of way. JUST like my 1rst 5k and my 1rst 10k. That FIRST initial step is hardest and few others may be as well. Will I go back and do another? You betcha. I signed up for the ones I could already so it's a done deal. Plus my stubborn but will NOT let me quit. THAT I am ok with! :-D
My MP3 songs have been the SAME songs for a year now!! (Actually 11 months) and I have been SICK of them. I have needed new songs for a long time now. Well I am DONE with them. I need time away from these songs and need new ones.
Now off the running subject...few other things in my daily life.
The day before thanksgiving was a rough one. I SWEAR I was being tested. So many things went wrong. ONE MAJOR thing was the brakes in my car went out... Well 2 months ago we had them done. New brakes, pads, calipers, the whole sha-bang $400 worth. Placed on a credit card that I still have $350 left of...come to find out (after Shawn had to miss a few day --there goes $ that we needed to begin w/ now even MORE) that the master cylinder went out. There are 2 valves and #2 was leaking into #1. So it would cost ANOTHER $400. AGAIN placed on credit card. Well Shawn is there TODAY getting it fixed (more $ lost :() So now that is $800 on a credit card we can't pay. MY credit being screwed. (We ARE paying but so little that w/ interest we will have paid $3000+ when paid off IF EVER) To make things worse...(then) we are late for our maintenance service by 1000 miles so we have to get that done which will cost $200 change (can you guess how it will be paid?) AND then in less then 2000 miles we have to go for ANOTHER service (have to do the dealer services to keep our warranty WHICH is over April 1) which will be $100! THEN our filters (engine and cabin) need to be changed (they have needed to be changed for 3 yrs!!)oh and ONE more thing we need a fuel & injection system cleaned which is $90.
So all this happened the day before Thanksgiving (plus my phone stopped working that day). As a way to say what are YOU thankful for Jodymarie?! SO I was overwhelmed I cried and I spoke to above... I said "OK! why does all this have to happen the day before thanksgiving (or PERIOD for that fact). It's like you are asking what am I thankful for? Well I can tell you I am NOT thankful for this!!" I then stated (and posted it as my status at the time " I am thankful, I am thankful, I am friggin thankful!!!"
Well I bought and replaced the filters myself YESTERDAY. :) Loved doing it made me feel special haha I did research to find out where they were located and how to change it blah blah blah and did it yesterday saving 40 MINIMUM dollars. WHOO HOO!!! I am looking into how to do my own oil changes which I will be doing after this next service since my warranty will be up and frankly I CAN do it myself! (I tell myself that haha). Now as far as the fuel/injection system needing to be cleaned Shawn said we could use those bottles they sell that says fuel system/injection system cleaner that you put in your gas tank? I am not sure but maybe. Hmm.... I do not know how to find out.
I bought 2 things yesterday!! :)
Let me show you!!!
First is medal holder. I had 4 that I asked on FB for people to "vote" and tell me which one's they liked. I was STUCK. Finally narrowed it down to 2. I was STUCK again on those 2 for 2 days, I was getting so frustrated. Well I took a look on their site one last time under Female runners (which I had not look under before) and BAM there it was. No if's and or butt's. It SPOKE to me I kid you not. It was final I got it. I can NOT wait to get it and hang it up!! It is 26" long, and can hold 18-25 medals. I only have 3 right now and by the end of next year I will have total of 8. Not many but a start. Here it is:
The next thing I got was a fuel belt. Not a hydration belt but a fuel belt...holds GU's and such. I have needed one forever and I asked someone where they got theirs and off I went (online). No more holding stuff in my boobage area lol which let me make clear is uncomfy and annoying.

It has 6 slots on outside for Gels (I imagine bars and such can fit too) and toggles to hold your race bib (which I will like since I HATE putting safety pins through my running stuff!) BUT I have no idea how they work. Anyone know?

The day before thanksgiving was a rough one. I SWEAR I was being tested. So many things went wrong. ONE MAJOR thing was the brakes in my car went out... Well 2 months ago we had them done. New brakes, pads, calipers, the whole sha-bang $400 worth. Placed on a credit card that I still have $350 left of...come to find out (after Shawn had to miss a few day --there goes $ that we needed to begin w/ now even MORE) that the master cylinder went out. There are 2 valves and #2 was leaking into #1. So it would cost ANOTHER $400. AGAIN placed on credit card. Well Shawn is there TODAY getting it fixed (more $ lost :() So now that is $800 on a credit card we can't pay. MY credit being screwed. (We ARE paying but so little that w/ interest we will have paid $3000+ when paid off IF EVER) To make things worse...(then) we are late for our maintenance service by 1000 miles so we have to get that done which will cost $200 change (can you guess how it will be paid?) AND then in less then 2000 miles we have to go for ANOTHER service (have to do the dealer services to keep our warranty WHICH is over April 1) which will be $100! THEN our filters (engine and cabin) need to be changed (they have needed to be changed for 3 yrs!!)oh and ONE more thing we need a fuel & injection system cleaned which is $90.
So all this happened the day before Thanksgiving (plus my phone stopped working that day). As a way to say what are YOU thankful for Jodymarie?! SO I was overwhelmed I cried and I spoke to above... I said "OK! why does all this have to happen the day before thanksgiving (or PERIOD for that fact). It's like you are asking what am I thankful for? Well I can tell you I am NOT thankful for this!!" I then stated (and posted it as my status at the time " I am thankful, I am thankful, I am friggin thankful!!!"
Well I bought and replaced the filters myself YESTERDAY. :) Loved doing it made me feel special haha I did research to find out where they were located and how to change it blah blah blah and did it yesterday saving 40 MINIMUM dollars. WHOO HOO!!! I am looking into how to do my own oil changes which I will be doing after this next service since my warranty will be up and frankly I CAN do it myself! (I tell myself that haha). Now as far as the fuel/injection system needing to be cleaned Shawn said we could use those bottles they sell that says fuel system/injection system cleaner that you put in your gas tank? I am not sure but maybe. Hmm.... I do not know how to find out.
I bought 2 things yesterday!! :)
Let me show you!!!
First is medal holder. I had 4 that I asked on FB for people to "vote" and tell me which one's they liked. I was STUCK. Finally narrowed it down to 2. I was STUCK again on those 2 for 2 days, I was getting so frustrated. Well I took a look on their site one last time under Female runners (which I had not look under before) and BAM there it was. No if's and or butt's. It SPOKE to me I kid you not. It was final I got it. I can NOT wait to get it and hang it up!! It is 26" long, and can hold 18-25 medals. I only have 3 right now and by the end of next year I will have total of 8. Not many but a start. Here it is:
The next thing I got was a fuel belt. Not a hydration belt but a fuel belt...holds GU's and such. I have needed one forever and I asked someone where they got theirs and off I went (online). No more holding stuff in my boobage area lol which let me make clear is uncomfy and annoying.

It has 6 slots on outside for Gels (I imagine bars and such can fit too) and toggles to hold your race bib (which I will like since I HATE putting safety pins through my running stuff!) BUT I have no idea how they work. Anyone know?
That is about all folks!!
I am supposed to do ST'ing on my lower body but no way is that happening.
